How To Pass Flight Attendant Training

How To Pass Flight Attendant Training
Before getting to know how to pass flight attendant training, you need to know the type of tests and exams to expect and what they entail. Employers will put newly hired flight attendants through a very intense training program, after which they will receive certification from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). The classes can be offered in a classroom setting or simulator. The trainees must pass every written exam after every block of tutelage. They must achieve a score of 90% or more to proceed to the next level.

The trainees will also take lessons for the different types of aircraft that they will work on. They may take either a practical or hands on exam, which involves identifying certain components on board the aircraft, and describing their unique physical characteristics. Many airlines will require students to go on observation flights, after which they will write a report about their experience. They may also discuss the same in groups in class. Before certification, the trainees must complete an initial operating experience (IOE) flight. The trainee will perform all flight attendant duties under the supervision of a professional steward or stewardess. A written evaluation of your performance will be given. This is the last step before taking the final exam.

The final exam entails everything that you have been taught in the flight attendant school. It may comprise two parts, a hands-on practical and a written exam. The written part will be done in a classroom setting, while the former takes place in a simulated aircraft. The instructors will act as the passengers to be attended to by the students. They are expected to meet the needs of their tutors with no help from professional flight attendants. If you successfully complete both parts of the exam, a graduation ceremony is held, where one receives their certification.

Here is how to pass flight attendant training:

1. Study hard
You will need to study everyday after class and even on weekends since the exams are almost daily. You must also meet the 90% pass mark to proceed to the next level.

2. Time management
Many airlines have observation flights over the weekend, so you also need to manage your time efficiently.

3. Revision
You need to revise new things learned daily and over the weeks as the final exam will entail everything that you have learned

4. Discussion

5. The Flight Attendant Manual
The FAM should be your Bible, in figurative terms. You must study and master it

6. Be very observant
Be very keen especially during practicals. The IOE will require you to attend to your supervisor who will be acting as a passenger on a flight.

7. Seek clarification
If you do not understand anything, seek clarification from your tutors.

8. Follow instructions
This is a seemingly simple rule, but it is crucial for you to pass your training.
